1. Ninaikka therintha maname , unakku marakka theriyaathaa,

Pazhaga  therintha uyire  , unallu vilaga  theriyaathaa?

1,Oh mind who knows to think, Do you not know how to forget,

Oh Soul who knows how to move closely, Do you not know how to part.

2,Mayanga   therintha kanne , unakku uranga theriyathaa,

Malara therintha  anbe, Unakku  maraya   theriyaathaa?

2, Oh eye who knows to faint , do you know how to sleep,

Of love which knows how to rise  , Do you not  how to set.

3.Edukka therintha karame  , unakku kodukka theriyathaa,

Inikka therintha kaniye, Unakku  kasakka theriyaathaa?

3.Oh hand  which knows how to take  , Do you not know how to give,

Oh fruit which knows   how to be sweet,  do you not know how to become bitter.

4,Padikka therintha idhazhe  , unakku mudikka theriyatha,

Padara  therintha paniye  , UNakku maraya theriyathaa?

4.Oh lips   which knows how to read, do you not  know how to finish,

Oh fog which knows   to spread, Do you not know  how to vanish?

5.Kodhikka therintha nilave , Unakku kulira theriyaathaa,

Kulirum thendral kathre , Unakku pirikka   theriyaathaa?

5.Oh moon which knows how to boil , do you know how to cool,

Oh cool southern breeze, Do you  noe know how to separate?

6.Pirikka therintha  iraivaa  , Unakku inaikka theriyaathaa,

Inaikka therintha thalaiva, Unakku yennai puriyaathaa

6.OH God who knows to separate , do  you not know how to join,

Oh Lord who knows to join , Can  you not understand me.
