1, Kadavul cheitha pavam-ingu,

Kanum thunbam yavum –yenna,

Manamo , yenna gunamo, intha,

Manithan konda kolam?

1.All the sorrows   that  we see  here,

Are  the sins committed   by God,

Whether   the form assumed   by this man,

Is the mind or is the character.

2. Porul yethum indri  karuvaka vaithu  ,

Uruvaakki vittu vittan,

Arivendra  ondrai mariyadhai indri,

Idam mathi  vaithu vittan.

2.Making it in to foetus without any reason,

He gave   it a form and set it there,

And without any respect he kept  ,

The thing called wisdom in a different place.

3.Nanbaragal , pagaivargal yarendrum,

Nallavar , kettavar  yaarendrum,

Pazhakum pothu  therivathillai,

Pazhai pona  in the bhoomiyile

3.In  this very useless   earth ,

We  are not able to understand  ,

Who is the friend and who is the enemy,

Ad also who is good and who is bad.

4.Mukathukku nere chirippar-kankal,

Muthukukku pinnale   cheerum,

Mukastuthi pesum valayum kuzhayum,

Kariyamanathum maarum.

4.They would laugh in front of the face,

But their eyes will seethe behind our back,

Their bangles and ear globes would flatter ,

But once their job is done , they would change.

5.Koduppavan thane mel jathi,

Kodukkathavane keezh jathi,

Padaithavan peraal jathi vaithan,

Pazhai pona  intha bhoomiyile

5.The one who    gives is the higher caste,

And the one who does not give  is the low caste,

In the name of the creator   he creayed the caste ,

In this   very useless  world,

6.Nadappathu yaavum  vidhippadi yendraal,

Vedanai   yeppadi theerum,

Udaippathai  udaithu valarppathai  valarthaal,

Ulagam uruppadiyagum.

6,If everything happens according to fate,

When will the pain come to an end?

If we break those that  ought to break,

And grow    that which ought to grow,

Then this world would become a useful thing.
