 Kalam  pala kadanthu ,

Annai mugham kandene ,

Kanneerum punnagayum,

Kalanthu vara nindrene  ,

Ondru pada vazhiyillaye ,

Unmaikku mozhi illaye  ,

Ullam thirantthu oru chol,

Cholvathakkum  mudiyavillaye

Introductory verse

After passing through   a large time,

I saw   the face of  my mother,

I stood there    with the mixture,

Of tears    as well as smile.

There is no way to them to merge,

There is no language    for truth,

And I  am not able to  to tell,

One word  opening my mind.

Chirithu konde azhugindren ,

Chilar chirippar, cilar Azhuvar  , naan,

Azhuthu  konde chirikkindren

1.Some people laugh, some eople cry,

But I  am laughing while I am crtying,

Some people laugh, some people cry,

But I am  crying   while I am laughing.

2.Pasam nenjil modhum-antha,

Pathayai  bedangal moodum,

Uravai yenni chirikkindren ,

Urimai illamal  azhugindren

2.The affection would dash against the mind,

And that path would be closed by differences,

I am laughing thinking of relationships,

And I  am crying, without the right to do it

3.Karunai pongum ullam athu ,

Kadavul vaazhum illam,

Karunai manathil vaazhgindrar-thinam,

Kadavulai thedi alaigindrar.

3.It is a mind from which mercy ebbs out,

It is a house   where  God lives,

He is living in a merciful heart,

And he wanders   daily searching for God.

4,Kalam oru naal marum –nam,

Kavalaigal yellam theerum ,

Varuvathai yenni chirikkindren,

Vanthathai yenni azhugidren

4.One day the time would change,

And all our worries would get over ,

I am laughing thinking of   what is coming,

And I am crying thinking of what has come.
