1Kelu pappa, Kelu papa,

Kelvigal aayirm kelu papa.

Kettal kidaippathu podhu arivu-indha,

Kelviyil  valarvathu  pagatharivu

1.Ask little baby, ask little baby,

Ask thousand questions little baby ,

When you ask  you get general knowledge ,

And through question discriminative knowledge  grows.

2. CHirikkindra  udhattilum visham irukkum,

Uraikkindra mozhiyilum  chathi irukkum,

Anaikkindra kaiyilum  vaal irukkum- adhai,

Arinthu kondal  nalla vaazvu irukkum

2. In the laughing lips there  may be poison,

IN the words that you talk there may be deceit  ,

In the hands that hugs there my be sword,

If you know this   , you would have a good life

3.Kadalukku bhayanthavan karayil nindraan –athai,

Padaginil kadanthavan  ulagai kandaan  ,

BHayanthavan thanakke pagai aavaan  -uendrum,

Thuninthavan   ulagirkku oli yaavaan.

3.He who was scared of the sea stood in the shore,

He who crossed it in a boat   saw the   world  .

The man who is scared is his own enemy-

And the one who dared always would be a light of the world.

4.Kallai udaithaal thoolagum-adhai,

Kalayaal vadithaak  chilayagum,

Nellai vidaithaal  nel valarum,

Mullai vidaithaal   yenna varum?

4.If you  break a stone it would become dust,

If it is sculpted by are , it would become a  statur,

If you sow  paddy , you would get paddy,

But if  you sow thorn, what will you get?

5,Koduthaal kidaipathu maryadai –alli,

Koduppavan  kayyilum  malar vadai,

KOdukkathiruppathu chiru paavam-pirar,

KOduppathai thadppathu  perum pavam.

5,If you give , you would get back respect ,

To the one who gives in plenty m, scent of flower on his hand ,

Not giving  anything is a minor sin   but,

Preventing others from giving is a big sin.

6.Uyir mel aasayai valarthu vidu –athil,

Uravai yellam  vaazha vidu,

Porul mel aasai  valarnthu vittal-angu  ,

Uravum pagayai maari vidum

6.Grow  more attachment to your soul ,

In that  allow all your relations to live  ,

If love for wealth grows a  lot , there,

Relationship would turn to enmity.
