1, Buthiyulla manithan yellam,

Vethri kanpathillai  ,

Vethi kanda manithan yellam budhi saliyillai

1, All human beings who are intelligent,

Do not achieve victory,

All those who are victorious are not intelligent.

2.Panamirukkum manithanidam  manam iruppathillai,

Manamirukkum manithanidam panam iruppathillai  ,

Panam padaitha veetinile  , vandathellam sondham,

Panamillatha  manitharukku   sondhamellam   thunbam.

2.To  all the  human beings who are rich, mind  is not there ,

To all those human beings with mind, money  does not exist  ,

In the house    where  riches are there, all people who come are  relativesm

And to the human being without money   all relatives are sorrow.

3.Paruvam vantha anaivarume , kadhal kolvathillai  ,

Kadhal konda anaivarume manam mudippathillai  ,

Manam muditha anaivarume   chernthu  vaazhvathillai  ,

Chernthu vaazhum anaivarume  , chernthu povathillai.

3.All those who reach age of maturity , do not fall in love,

All those who fall in love  , do not get married,

All those   who get married, do not live together ,

All those who live together , do not go together.
